The physical properties of cocoon filaments of trimolter larvae induced by an anti-JH bioactive substance in Bombyx mori were investigated. Results obtained were as follows; The cocoons produced had a filament size ranging from 3 to 0.8 denier. Relationship between body weight of the silkworm and cocoon weight and between cocoon weight and filament size showed a linearity with a positive correlation. This relationship was considered to agree with that observed in studies on filaments with a size of above 2 denier. Degumming loss percentage among the cocoon layers tended to be uniform as the filament size became smaller. Values of young's modulus increased as the filament size became smaller and the relation between these parameters was linear within a cocoon, but not among cocoons. The values for young's modulus increased remarkably in filaments with a smaller size.
