Studies of the Histochemical Demonstration of Dehydrogenase Activities by Selenious Acid

As is observed in other model experiment, the selenious acid was proved to be an indicator of the dehydrogenase reaction in histochemistry. But it was less sensitive than the reaction of the tellurite. The reaction of the replacement of the elemental selenium to metallic gold was rather hard and seemed to go not uniformly than the reaction which in the case of the tellurite method. The distribution of the sites of the positive reaction of the endogenous dehydrogenase in the rats and in the mice tissues is seemed to agree with that of tellurite experiment, five pieces of microphotographs of the reaction by this selenite method were showed in this paper. At the present stage of the investigation, we found no particular superiority of this selenite method than other methd. Neverthless, we are expecting that our study of new hydrogen acceptor or of the indicator for dehydrogenative reaction may cause an advance in enzyme histochemistry the other day.
