• The genus <I>Lycozoarces</I> has included two norminal species: <I>L.regani</I> Popov and <I>L.hubbsi</I> Popov.<I>L.regani</I> was based on the female and <I>L.hubbsi</I> on the male, and differences between them are due to sexual dimorphism.<I>L.hubbsi</I> is a junior synonym of <I>L.regani</I>. Meristic and morphometric data and color notes are presented.A specimen from the Okhotsk coast of Hokkaido represents the first record of <I>L.regani</I> from Japan.
