New Material Obtained by Carbonation of L. D. Slag

Application of L. D. slag which is by-produced in the steel production, has rarely been succeeded in the past. In this study, the effective application of L. D. slag and exhaust gas containing much heat and CO<SUB>2</SUB> were aimed, and then carbonation was made on the L. D. slag which was previously pulrerized and compacted. Furthermore, it was found that the carbonation was enhanced by adding some additives, such as levulose, T. E. A. and so on. This process seems suitable to produce construction materials of especially high strength.
