A survey on the results of tympanoplasty.

An assessment has been made regarding the fl uctuation of postoperative audibility in 37 ears in 34 cases (14 males and 20 females) on whom tympanoplasty was performed during 2 years from April, 1988, to March, 1990.<BR>1) In the subjects for the study with superior tympanic block, the audibility was exacerbated once up to the postoperative 7th days with 1000, 2000 and 4000Hz.<BR>2) In any of the subjects for the study, operative or bilateral difference was observed in the recovery of audibility on the postoperative 7th day onward.<BR>4) Difference was observed in the fluctuation of audibility by reconstructive material for conductive mechanism up to the postoperative 7th days with 500Hz.
