• We have studied about what kind of glass to be used when the glass parts of small type vacuum tubes are made, and especially the relation between the thermal or mechanical strength of glass parts and the thermal expansion coefficient of glass used was studied.The most desirable relations between flare glass and exhaust tube glass of pinched stems, between stem glass, bulb glass and lead wire of wafer stems, and between bulb glass and exhaust tube glass of tublated bulbs are explained.
