Thirty-six previous annual screening roentgenograms of lung cancer cases detected by chest radiologic mass screening were analyzed. The survival probability of the group with no abnormal findings on the previous miniature roentgenograms was significantly lower than those with recognizably abnormal findings (p<0.05). Lung cancer not recognizable on previous miniature roentgenograms has rapid growth with a shorter tumor doubling time, therefore it is necessary to achieve earlier diagnosis and earlier treatment.
