A 79-year-old male farmer. Presented in 1985 with shortness of breath.
He had had a basal cell carcinoma on the right axillary region. Surgical resection had been undertaken. Local reccurences had occured five times, and direct invasion to the right supraclavicularegion had been seen. Bilateral pleural effusion and a nodular shadow on the left lung field were noted by the chest X-ray picture on admission.
A submucosal tumor on the left main bronchus was found, and diagnosed as metastasis of basal cell carcinoma by transbronchial biopsy. In this case basosquamous element, perineural spread and blood vessel invasions were evident and were thought to indicate possible reccurence and metastasis.
