Two cases of pulmonary adenocarcinoma with metastases to the eye were presented. The first case, a 54-year-old female developed serous detachment of the left retina. On computed tomography, a high density area was observed in the left choroidal membrane. By additional radiological and bronchofiberscopic examinations, pulmonary carcinoma was detected and diagnosed as well differentiated adenocarcinoma. Combined chemotherapy (CDDP ADM+MMC) and irradiation to the left eye were performed, nevertheless, she died of general weakness 6 months after the initial treatment. The second case was a 58-year-old male who complained of visual disturbance in the right eye with pulmonary adenocarcinoma. Two courses of combined chemotherapy (CDDP VDS MMC) was performed but the primary lung tumor and the metastatic lesion remained unchanged. He has been followed as an outpatient. It seems that the relatively high incidence of cancer metastasis from the lung to the eye is primarily due to the recent considerable increase in the number of patients with lung cancer in Japan.
