• The site is at Zingayama, Kutanabe, Sagamura, Kumage County, Yamaguchi Prefecture, on the top of a hill about 15 meters high.A stone coffin, so called Gist, was found about several years ago, and the human bones were obtained in it. The cist is made of slate, and 160cm in breadth and 29cm in depth. The inside walls of the cist were red-coloured.The skull in the coffin is well-preserved. It is presumed to be of a male in adult. The light vermilion colour adheres to its face. The cephalic index is dblichocran, the heigth-length index orthocran, and the height-breadth index metriocran. The upper facial index is euryen, orbital index (both sides) mesoconche, nasal index chamerrhine and palatal index leptostaphyline.
