Flow rates of surface seawater in a layer culture farm were measured using a method of plaster balls. The flow rates obtained here were discussed in relation to two factors, surface wave height and density in number of layer culture net in the farm.<BR>It is pointed out that the flow rate in the farm was strongly influenced by fluctuations of the height and the density. Namely, contour lines of the rate become almost parallel to the shore according to the increase in wave height and the decrease in density. Under the reversed relation, the decrease in wave height and the increase in density, configurations of the lines are changed to a concentric circle, in which the flow rates are depressed.<BR>It is concluded that the plaster ball method can be applied to measure the flow rates, because the rates are significantly related to the two factors, the surface wave height and the density of net in the farm.
