The effect of water temperature on egg development of striped jack <I>Caranx delicatissimus</I> was examined.<BR>Eggs were incubated at different temperatures between 14°C and 35°C after fertilization.At temperatures between 18°C and 26°C, the eggs were able to be hatched.No eggs were hatched-out below 17°C and over 28°C.<BR>Average times necessary for hatching were 63.4 hrs at 18°C, 46.7 hrsat 20°C, 30.0hrs at 24°C, and 26.6hrs at 26°C⋅<BR>Hatching rate were 76.7 and 76.6% at 20°C as well as 22°C respectively. The results showed that the most suitable temperature for hatching was considered between 20 and 22°C.
