A new instrumentation is made for specific heat capacity measurments of thin plate specimens. A specimen is set above a plate-heater in a vacuum chamber. The specimen is heated only by thermal radiation from the heater according to the Stefan-Boltzmann law. The heat capacity is obtained from the heater temperatures for an increase and for a decrease of the specimen temperature. The simultaneous measurements of specific heat capacity and the dielectric constant are made for ferro-electric ceramics such as PZT ceramics at elevated temperatures. Similarly, measurements of the heat capacity and the electrical resistivity are made for PTC ceramics.
