When platelets of blood group O donor were incubated with plasma from blood group A or B donor (secretor or non-secretor) in vitro, O platelets transformed to be reactive with anti-A or anti-B anti-platelet antiserum, adsorbing A or B blood group antigens in plasma. This finding suggested that the A and B blood group antigens on platelets were expressed by adsorption of A and B blood group substances in plasma in vivo.
