The results of observations of wind profiles up to about 5 m height over the sea surface and over the sand spit nearby are presented. Wind profiles based on data collected over the undulating sea surface show a kink in the lower part of every logarithmic wind profile. This kink is unlikely due to instrumental or observational errors. Profiles based on data taken almost simultaneously over the sand spit, on the other hand, are similar to those observed by others over land surface, and hence do not contain any kink. These facts suggest that structure of air flow over undulating water surface is different from that over fixed land surface.<BR>The drag coefficient of the sea surface under moderate wind speeds was determined from data contained in the upper linear part of the logarithmic profile. Under near-adiabatic condition the value of this coefficient was 1.3×10-3 for 10 m height.
