A case of systemic scleroderma (PSS) associated with psoriasis vulgaris is reported.<BR>A 68-year-old woman visited our clinic complaining of exacerbation of psoriasis which had developed at the age of 61. She had had also Raynaud's phenomenon since 42 years of age and been diagnosed and treated as PSS and primary biliary cirrhosis since 57 years of age in other clinic. Physical examination revealed sclerodactylia, short frenulum of the tongue, and scattered scaly erythema on the whole body. She had antinuclear antibodies (discrete speckled pattern) in the serum, but pulmonaly fibrosis and esophageal dysfunction have not been evident. Histopathology of the erythematous lesion and forearm skin showed findings consistent with psoriasis and PSS, respectively. The association of these two diseases might be incidental, but it is possible to speculate some common factors in the developement of PSS and psoriasis.
