A study has been made of the viability of rat ovarian tissue after exposure-196°. The ovaries were plunged into LN<SUB>2</SUB> directry after soaking in the the vitrification solution (Rall & Fahy, 1985). After thawing and transplantation, such tissue formed functional grafts in the ovarian bursa of the ovariectomised donors, and ovulated.
