A Record of Barbourisia rufa PARR from off the Kurile Islands

On November 11, 1959, a fine specimen of Barbourisia rufa PARR was collected by Mr. Kanamaru ICHIKAWA, Hachinoe Fisheries Senior High School, at the wholesale fish market of Hachinoe City, Aomori Prefecture. The fish was caught by trawl off the Kurile Islands, at a depth of less than 450m., and when received from the collecter by the junior author, who lived in the same city at that time, it was entirely red excepting for the pupils which were black. The writers wish to express their sincere thanks to Mr. ICHIKAWA for his kindness in presenting them the most valua ble specimen for study.
