A case of 60-year-old female with mesonephroid carcinoma of the interurethrovaginal areas rising from an embryonal rest cyst (Gartner's duct cyst) was reported. The tumor was clinically at first diagnosed as a paraurethral abscess, but aspiration cytology through the vaginal wall revealed malignancy.
Cytologically, the tumor cells were composed of clear cell and hobnail cell. These cells contained a large amount of glycogen and a few lipid droplets. Surgical specimen revealed that the tumor was papillary cystadenocarcinoma containing clear cell nests, and the tumor mass continued a cyst lined by cuboidal epithelium.
It was supposed the entity that mesonephroid carcinoma is of Wolffian or Mullerian duct origin.
