<I>Clostridium</I> sp. strain F-8 produced β-<I>N</I>-acetylglucosaminidase (β-G1cNAcase) extracellularlly. The optimal pH of β-G1cNAcase was 6.0, and it was stable at between 6.0 and 7.0. The enzyme had an optimal temperature of 37°C, and was stable at 40°C. These results suggested that the enzyme is well adapted to intestinal environments of host animals.
