In this report, the effective thermal conductivity of leathers are measured by employing the steady state comparison method. The effective thermal conductivity vs. temperature diagrams are shown as the basic results. The conductivity increases linearly with increasing temperature for all specimen selected in this study, but increasing rate is small. The authors propose the empirical equation of the effective thermal conductivity of the leathers by using the results between the effective conductivity and the effective density. This equation is able to estimate the conductivity within about +5%.
