System simulation models have been designed for forage crop harvesting which includes the several operations to determine the most efficient haying system. The models make use of dynamic simulation in which time passes with the fixed time increment method. The models consisted of fourteen subroutines, YOMU (input data), KAISHI (time setting), KUSA (crop yield model), TENKI (climatic stochastic model), KARU (mowing), HAYCON (conditioning), TENSO (tedding), SHUSO (windrowing), BALE (baling), DRYER (drying), SHIAGE (hay pressing), SUIB UN (moisture contents of grass), SUSUMI (daily recording) and MATOME (read out) as shown in Fig. 5, and written with FORTRAN as shown in Fig. 10.A summary of the results are as follows:1. The optimum yield from 240ha is about 13, 500 ton (raw grass).2. Case 1 machinery combination is better than case 2 as shown in Table 8 and 9.3. The yield of forage crop diminishes after the month of August.4. The hay tower used as a temporary storage reduces the number of dryers needed.5. The study has shown that the optimum forage crop harvesting system can be established by model system analyses using computer simulation.
