This paper deals with the frequency response characteristics of the feedback systems, the forward element of which is a three position relay with differential gap and the feedback element of which is a monotonous lag element such as first order lag 1/1+<I>T<SUB>s</SUB></I> or second order lag I/ (1+<I>T<SUB>1s</SUB></I>) (1+<I>T<SUB>2s</SUB></I>) Dynamic characteristics of the systems as automatic controllers are discussed in connection with the relay thresholds and feedback time constants. Controllers of this type behave similarly to PD Controller in a certain low frequency region (less than a half of the cut off frequency of feedback element) and the D. C. gain of the controllers increases with the magnitude of input.
