1. The author devised an original and simple method, using Anthron reaction, to determine urinarinary Mucoprotein the adequacy of this method was proved through clinical application. 2. By this method, 24 hour urinary excretion of Mucoprotein was compared between pregnant and non-pregnant women, and this value was found significantly higher in the former. It can subsequently be used as an auxiliary chemical method for the diagnosis of pregnancy. 3. Urinary excretion of Mucoprotein was increased in puerperium over that in pregnancy and non-pregnancy. This is considered to be due to a different mechanism. 4. In malignant tumor such as ca. colli, urinary excretion of Mucoprotein was significantly higher than in normal pregnancy. In uteral myoma, the value was varying from case to case, though higher in general than in normal myoma. 5. Increase in urinary excretion of Mucoprotein was also observed in inflammatory diseases and disorders in urinary passage. 6. Urinary excretion of Mucoprotein in men should be investigated from a different viewpoint from that for women. 7. In malignant tumor, parallel relation was observed betwen C.R.P. test and urinary excretion of Mucoprotein but no such relation in pregnancy. Therefore nothing conclusive can be said in this respect. 8. Determination of urinary aceton precipitation in Esbach tube can not be used for diagnosis of pregnancy.
