Recently, a number of approaches to reinforced soil retaining wall have been proposed, and thousands have been built worldwide. But, because of these constructions like lateral earth pressure directly exerted on facing material, it is afraid of swelling of facing material and lack of compaction near the face. Hence, we developed new reinforced soil retaining wall system that has absorbing deformation layer between facing material and soil, to prevent lateral earth pressure from exerting on the facing material. This paper reports both a load exerted on connection belt between facing material and geogrid and a tension distribution occurred on geogrid, measured in construction site.
