An experimental embankment was built using geogrids and a steel wall-surface material with anchors securing the reinforcing material on terrain simulating a steep slope. Load tests were performed on this full-scale reinforced embankment. Three types of reinforced embankment structures were built in this study, with different geogrid reinforcing materials, varying spacing for reinforcing materials, different wall-surface materials, differing shapes for wall-surface materials, and so on. The displacement of the wall surface, the deformation of the geogrid strain and anchors strain, the soil pressure exerted by the earth bank, vertical soil pressure at the bottom, and other factors related to these reinforced embankment structures were measured under load during and after construction. The stability of geogrid-reinforced embankment structures with anchors will be described, in addition to the behavior of the reinforced embankment structures resulting from various combinations of reinforcing materials, wall-surface materials, an so on.
