Geomembrane and geotextile are installed on the bottom and the side slope of a waste landfill as a liner sheet. As for a side slope, 1:1.5-1:3 are experientially adopted in many cases. Although it depends on the strength of the foundation of side slope, if there is enough strength for the slope to be stable, from a viewpoint of increasing disposed capacity, as the slope become steeper, the disposed capacity become larger. In this research, when the liner which consists of top protective layer, a liner sheet and a lower protective layer is installed on a side slope with a change of slope angle, the drag force induced in the liner sheet with compression of waste was measured by conducting modeled tests and calculated based on the force equilibrium method and Boussinesq theory.
