Experimental Examination of Appropriate Measurement Method of Oral Moisture Checking Device

For measuring the moisture degree of the oral mucosa using an oral moisture checking device, we examined different experimental conditions to devise a measurement method with less errors. In experiment 1, we examined the plasticity of the measured value when an artificial wet aspect was measured using auxiliary equipment. The measured value was extremely stable when the measurement pressure and the contact angle were constant. In experiment 2, we examined the appearance frequency of a loser value based on the difference in the measurement pressure when the artificial wet aspect was measured without using auxiliary equipment. The appearance frequency of the loser value did not show a significant difference at measurement pressures of 200 and 300g. We examined appearance frequency of loser value by a difference of measurement pressure and measurement part when measured moisture of tongue and buccal mucosa and adoption method of the measurement number of times that considered appearance frequency of loser value by experiment 3. We considered that the median of the three different measurements would be appropriate to determine the measurement efficiency. In experiment 4, we examined the actual measurement pressure and the appearance frequency of pain experienced by a patient by a difference of a measurement part. When the measurement pressure on the tongue was 300g, 27 people complained of pain. Hence, we considered the appropriate measurement pressure to be 200g.
