Five calves born to the same cow died consecutively due to hemorrhagic disease. The first incidence was the calf from 3rd calving, and died at 19-day old; and others died between 9 to 18-day old. The 6th calf suddenly bled from anus on the 8th day after birth. Blood transfusion and antibiotics were administered, but it died on the next day. Autopsy revealed systemic petechial hemorrhage. The 7th calf was administered of antibiotics and lactobacillus preparation; the cow was administered of the antibiotics, both from the 2nd day. However, the calf bled and died similarly. Autopsy results were the same.<BR>The 8th calf had hemorrhagic stool on day 11th; it was killed and subjected to autopsy. As the result, systemic petechial hemorrhage was identified. Hemorrhagic enteritis was denied since there was no inflammatory reaction at bleeding sites. Anemia and severe blood coagulation disorder with platelet loss were identified, and it was pre-sumed to be due to hemorrhagic factor by thrombocytopenia. Matrernal prothrombin time was nornal and activated partial thromboplastin time was prolonged. Deficiency or abnormalities in coagulation factors are considered. Also, the disease similar to thrombocytopenia, by allogenic immunization reported in piglets, was considered as well.
