A 1-year and 9-month old boy visited Nara Medical College Hospital with wheezing after eating chestnuts. Since a foreign body was not detected by the plain chest X-ray and chest CT films, we decided to use MRI. A chestnut appeared as a high signal in T1-weighted imaging of the left main bronchus. It is sometimes difficult to diagnose radiolucent foreign bodies in the lower respiratory tract, and such cases are often peanuts in infants. It is thought that MRI will be useful in detecting nuts in such cases.
