Eight tumors were located in the right, and five in the left lung, seven centrally and six peripherally. Cough and sputum were the dominant symptom in five of seven patients with centrally types located tumors. Seven were asymptomatic ; one had Cushing's syndrome. A preoperative diagnosis of bronchial carcinoid was mad or suspected in only three patients. None of our 13 patiests showed symptom of carcinoid syndrome or an elevated 5-HIAA level. Surgical procedures consisted of pneumonectomy in one, lebectomy in eight patients, segmentectomy in one, and partial resection in three patients. All patients are alive without evidence of recurrence, except the one with Cushing's syndrome, who died of adrenal insufficiency postoperatively.
