Two dimensional distributions of scalar quantity such as pressure, temperature, density and Mach number are mostly dealt in flow analyses. For detailed and thorough data analysis, image display can be the most effectual and powerful means compared to the other means. It has a wide variety of applications that can be time varying and/or three dimensional data displays.
The authors have utilized a computer graphics system for analyses in aerodynamic and heat transfer researches much related with gas turbines. The CG system can deal with either a video signal or a set of two dimensional (matrix) digital data as an input source, while it can provide an RGB color image display and a three dimensional (bird's eye like) display by a real time processor as output forms. The system hardware is of a type of general collection of various components. Some of them are newly developed. ones. On the other hand, software has been developed at NAL utilizing basic built-in functions.
The present video demonstration concerns the explanation of the CG system and the introduction of some representative applications.
