It is well known that chondrosarcoma is diffidcult to be distinguished from chondroma histologically. We report two cases which were first diagnosed as enchondroma and later identified as chondrosarcoma histologically. The two patients were a 58-year-old male and a 78-year-old female who had some pain around the knee joints. Radiographics of the patients showed radiolucent areas at the distal end of the fomur. The tumors were biopsied and diagnosed as enchondroma. After the tumor of one patient was biopsied again and the other was curetted, both of them were diagnosed as chondrosarcoma. In conclusion, if chondrosarcoma is suspected, several tissue from different portions should be collected at the time of biopsy.
