Pseudoachondroplasia is a rare skeletal dysplasia resulting in short-limbed dwarfism. It involves the spine, metaphysis and epiphysis of the long bones but not the skull. Dwarfism is not recognized until after the second year of life and the body proportion resembles achondroplasia. However, the head and face remain normal. Some patients develop cervical myelopathy due to atlantoaxial dislocation. This paper presents a 22-year-old woman with pseudoachondroplasia associated with cervical cord myeloradiculopathy caused by traffic accident. Roentgenography revealed os odontoideum with atlantoaxial subluxation. The subluxation was managed by surgery (McGraw's method), and this improved the neurological signs. This report demonstrates the importance of early diagnosis and treatment for atlantoaxial dislocation in skeletal dysplasia.
