We treated eight elder patients who had proximal humeral fracture with hemiarthroplasty, and report their clinical results. In this study, their mean age was 68.9 and their average course after operation was 33.1 months.Function and range of motion were evaluated according to the JOA scoring system.Three patients with rotator cuff injury in the shoulder joint had significantly worse results than the other patients. Age and interval before operation were related to worse results. On the other hand, better results were obtained for tuberosity union for diaphysis and absence of head elevation at abduction.
