We experienced three cases of supracondylar fractures of the femur after total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and discussed the risk factors of these fractures. This type of fracture is associated with osteoporosis, notching of the anterior femoral cortex, limitation of ROM, and preexisting neurogenic disorders. We do not recommend the use of a Rush pin for treatment of the communited type of this fracture.
