The authors experienced a deep sevof lurane anesthesia that was due to reversed connection of gas delivery tubings to a sevoflurane vaporizer. In vitro experiment revealed that reversed connection produced higher sevoflurane concentrations than dial settings. Sevoflurane concentrations further increased with the increase of total flow of fresh carrier gas. Reversed flow of carrier gas through a sevoflurane vaporizer in-creased the vaporizer output to 1.6 times that indicated by the dial setting.
