It has been known that acute interstitial nephritis (AIN) has many characteristic manifestations such as fever, skin rash, hematuria, arthralgia, urinary and blood eosinophilia and raised serum IgE level. In addition, there have been reported many causative drugs. We present here a 30-year-old patient who develops AIN after taking herb medicine during his course of nephrotic syndrome. Histologically, he was diagnosed as a typical AIN. So far as we know, this may be the first case of AIN induced by herb medicine.
