1) Tow cases of osteochondritis dissecans of the medial talar dome were reported.<BR>2) The diagnosis of osteochondritis dissecans of the talar dome usually can be made easily with plain roentgenograms. But lateral tomograms or arthroscopy are helpful in localizing this lesion, and may be required if the lesion can not be seen clearly on the roentgenograms to ascertain the size of the lesion and the margin of the talus.<BR>3) Patients who continued to have severe pain and limitation of activities after a long term of conservative treatment usually should undergo surgery consisting of removal of the fragment and curettage of the base of the lesion.
