A Case of Extravasation Mucous Cyst in Gingiva

Mucous cyst is one of the most frequent diseases in the oral mucosa. It is unlikely to be found in the attached gingiva, because of the usual absence of minor salivary glands in this region.We report an unusual case of extravasation mucous cyst in gingiva. The patient was a 41-year-old woman who had first noticed the lesion 3 weeks earlier. As a cystic lesion was observed in her lower right gingiva, it was surgically resected. Histopathologically, the lesion was diagnosed as mucous cyst without epithelial lining.
