1. The stomach cancer crude death rate for the group who did not have a checkup is 2-4 times as high as for the group who had a checkup.<BR>2. At the Miyagi cancer society, 288 patients with stomach cancer were detected between 1960 and 1963, during which 5-year survival could be ascertained.<BR>The "relative" 5 year survival rate for stomach cancer from mass survey (per 193 males) was 47.4%, and the rate (per 95 females) was 41.7%.We did not find significant difference by sex.<BR>The "relative" 5 year survival rate for the group who had the cancer cells of mucosal or submucosal layer was 93.4%, the rate for the group who had the cancer cells of muscular layer was 69.7%, and the rate for the group who had the cancer cells of serous membrane was 38.2%.
