With the time required for the disappearance of the methylenblue reaction as a guide, we studied the mechanism of the oxidation-reduction of the human skin with tuberculosis patients and examined the effects of the single and successive bathings on this reaction both in Narugo Spa locality and Tamagawa Spa locality, and obtained the following result:1) The average methylenblue value in tuberculosis patients is 92.63′, being greater than that in healthy persons which is 55.5′ on the average.2) The average methylenblue value in healthy persons in Tamagawa Spa locality is 39.91′, showing the shortening of the time in comparison with that in healthy persons in Narugo Spa locality which is 55.5′ on the average.3) The single bathing in Tamagawa Hot Spring reduces the methylenblue value in most cases, but there are some cases where it is increased.4) The difference in individuals of the methylenblue reaction which has been remarkable before bathing gradually disappear through the successive bathings in Tamagawa Hot Spring, with a tendency to return to the normal value. This is considered to be due to the regulation of the autonomic nerve system through the successive bathings.
