• The crystal of the title compound is monoclinic with space group P2<SUB>1</SUB>/a, <I>a</I>=30.36(3), <I>b</I>=6.04(1), <I>c</I>=4.16(1) Å, β=97.4(1)° and <I>Z</I>=4. The crystal structure was solved from X-ray powder diffractometer data by the packing analysis based on an ellipsoid-model and by the pattern-fitting structure refinement. The final <I>R</I> (profile) value was 0.168. This structure is isostructural with that of <I>p</I>-bromobenzoic acid.
