An Fe(II)HY zeolite catalyst pretreated at 500 and 600 °C was highly active for the hydrodesulfurization of dibenzothiophene when the Fe(II)HY zeolite was exchanged in a solution of FeCl2 and aqueous NH3 with NaY in N2 gas, whereas the Fe(III)NaY catalyst in a solution of FeCl3 displayed a low activity.
