The oscillator strengths of the absorption bands of Er3+ acetylacetonate, thenoyltrifluoroacetate, and dibenzoylmethide in methanol and dimethylformamide were determined and discussed in terms of the Judd-Ofelt’s theory. It was possible to use the Judd-Ofelt parameters for the evaluation of the spectral intensities. The oscillator strength of the hypersensitive transition 2H11⁄2←4I15⁄2 of Er3+ complexes, <I>P</I>(2H11⁄2), was indicated by the <I>P</I>(2H11⁄2)≈τcompνcomp U(2)/2J+1 and it is demonstrated that “hypersensitivity” may be explained only by the τ2 parameter of each complex, originating from the forced electric dipole transition.
