In order to solve the mechanism of hypoglycemic actions of mesoxalate and BZ 55, the author comparing the effects of these two drugs on several blood organic substances (glucose, lactic acid and pyruvic acid) or unorganic ones (unorganic phosphorus, K, Na, Ca and Cl) and this effect of insulin in alloxan diabetic rabbits, obtained following conclusion : <BR>(a) As to the changes of blood sugar curves and serum unorgenic phosphorus contents after injection of these drugs or insulin, there are remarkable differences between the effects of insulin and BZ 55 ; on the other hand the effect of mesoxalate is resemble to that of insulin.<BR>(b) The utilizing action of sugar mediate metabolic products is the most remarkable after injection of BZ 55 among these three antidiabetogenics.
