1) A correlation between catalase and peroxidase reaction was found.<BR>2) Either of two reactions was negative in 100γ and negative or positive in 10γ and 1γ resistant strains. Sensitive strains and 0.1γ resistant strains exhibited positive response.<BR>3) Slight variations were noted in catalase reaction after transfers or the treatment with 4% NaOH. Some of the positive strains changed to negative, but negative strains remained negative.<BR>4) The differentiation between resistant and sensitive strains in their mixed cultures could be done by means of catalase reaction.
