1. In the careful dissection by the present author, the interneural muscle was found distinctly in the dorsal wall of the vertebral canal of one young male great anteater. The paired interneural muscles were observed on the true vertebral portion except for the sacral.
2. In the cervical vertebrae, generally, the fibers of the interneural muscle were arised vigorously on the caudoventral surface of the dorsal wall of each neural arch, ran caudally and inserted on the cranioventral surface of the dorsal wall of the next neural arch. In the caudal portion of the thoracic, the lumbar and the cranial portion of the coccygeal, they were rather inserted hardly on the cranial margin or the craniodorsal surface of the neural arch.
3. Each attachment place of interneural muscle forms the clearly distinguishable depression. From the osteological stand point of view, the depression on the neural arch shows distinctly the existence of the interneural muscle. Accordingly, the present author proposes to call it "interneural muscular fossa".
