Methylprednisolone acetate was given in a nebulized form to 50 patients, 19 males and 31 females, between the ages of 11 and 79 for nasal allergy, acute sinusitis, management after surgery for sinusitis, acute pharyngolaryngitis, chronic laryngitis and management following laryngeal microsurgery. The frequency of application ranged from three to 42 times and the total dosage from 10mg to 210mg. Methylprednisolone acetate is an aqueous suspension and when given by nebulization appears to have a prolonged effect by attaching itself to the mucous membrane and being gradually absorbed through it. All the 50 patients responded well but it was difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of methylprednisolone acetate, because it was given in combination with other drugs. No adverse reaction was observed in any of the patients.
