Since YOSHIKAWA introduced the copper sulfate method for estimating the level of protein in blood plasma in Japan, many papers which confirmed the accmacy of predication based on PHILLIPS' formula. But at the same time other men reported that PHILLIPS' formula would be modified.<BR>Application of the copper sulfate method were studied on blood plasma taken from sheep.<BR>25 samples of plasma taken from sheep were analyzed for both specific gravity and protein content.<BR>Results are as follows:<BR>1 The date were plotted to chart in order to examine the correlation between specific gravity and protein content in sheep blood plasma, and it was observed that high positive correlation seemed to be present.<BR>Statistical analysis shows the following figures.<BR>γ=+0.792, t =6904>t<SUB>0.01</SUB>, 1=23<BR>sp. g.(by copper sulfate method) 1.0227±0.0002 protein content (by HOWE's micro KJELDAHL P=6, 55N) 5.952±0.1304g/dl<BR>protein content g/dl=400 (G<SUB>p</SUB>-1.0071)<BR>G<SUB>p</SUB>: specifie gravity of plasma<BR>2 This equation for plasma of sheep which permits the preclication of protein content from specific gravity of plasma is different from that of PHILILPS.<BR>Epuation presented in this paper gives satisfactory predications throughout the entire concentration range, but predications from PHILLIPS/ formula give great deviations between protein contents.<BR>Statistical analysis are as follows.<BR>a) Deviations between protein contents and predications from the equation presented in this paper.<BR>Mean 0.2087g/dl<BR>Confidence interval 0.2087±0.0856g/dl<BR>b) Deviations between protein contents and predications from PHILLIPS/ formula<BR>Mean-0.4877g/dl<BR>Confidence interval-0.4877±0.0900g/dl
